In The Beginning

There is not better way to start off my blog to tell the story that got me into photography. I got my first camera (not including the Barbie camera I had when I was like three) when I was sixteen. I had asked for a camera for Christmas that year because I wanted to start taking pictures of my everyday life. That and I was tired of using my crappy flip phone camera. Ever since then I had taken that camera every where. I took it to West Virginia, out west, Virginia, and even just to my local state park. After two years of using that camera so much it finally started to quit on me when I went for a class to Belize. It was eating so many batteries, but it amazingly stayed with me.

Then in the spring of 2015 that camera had finally died and I was cameraless for over six months. That Christmas, however, I was blessed with a Nikon D5200. Now for some that don't know the D5200 is a beginner DSLR camera, which was fine at the time because I was a newbie with anything DSLR. I spent three years with that camera taking it with me to Florida, Tennessee, and really anywhere I went. I was impressed with how much control I had with taking the right shot.

Fast forward to 2018. My boyfriend and I love to travel, and I just recently got my motorcycle license to drive my scooter. The problem, I learned, with my D5200 is that it was so bulky and trying to travel with was starting to become harder and harder. It did not fit easily in a saddle bag and took up an entire backpack when in its waterproof case. I soon started to notice its flaws as a beginners DSLR camera. With three years and a photography class under my belt I felt like the camera sometimes lacked in quality with the photos. This was the same time that my boyfriend had gotten a mirrorless camera and I instantly fell in love. That is when I decided to go with a Sony a6000.

Now my Sony and I have been on the move going from place to place with ease. I didn't lose any mega pixels, and I've been taking crisper photos than the Nikon D5200. I can easily fit it in my backpack along with other things, which makes hiking in the Smokies soon easier than ever.

The pictures shared with this post is pictures that were taken by each camera. During my blogging times with you guys I will be sharing pictures that I have taken with each camera because I've had some really cool experiences that I only got to take pictures with one camera. I've been blessed to be able to go to some really cool places and I can't wait to share some stories, give some tips, and educate people about some of the wildlife around them.
