I'm Mads! I'm 26 years old, and from rural Ohio. Growing up in the Canoe and Camp Capital of Ohio has inspired me to be very passionate in the great outdoors. I'm so passionate that I have a bachelors degree in Environmental Science. I have found a love for hiking over the years, and being on the trail whenever I can get the chance. Of course kayaking just comes naturally being where I'm from. Pair that with a love for traveling and you got yourself a good time.

I got into photography in 2011 when I just 16 years old. I've learned so much over the years that has influenced what my photography is today, and what I love shooting. I lean more toward nature photography dabbling in wildlife, landscape, and getting into astrophotography this year. I have taken pictures for two friends weddings, and a family that asks me back every year. I don't think I would have ever gotten that far without starting Mad Squatch Photography.

Mad Squatch Photography in itself was an idea that started on a John Boat. Yup, I was talking to my mother and boyfriend about my Belize adventures when my mom blurted out that I needed to start a blog. I don't know how sasquatch was mentioned for the name but the name Mad Squatch stuck, and thus began my journey. Created to share my stories from my travels with people that might be thinking about visiting those places or that might not have the ability to go. This blog is also to give people advice, and share what I learned to possibly help them when it comes to finding the right gear, or how to pack for an unusual situation. After three years we are growing to be able to share in podcast form, and coming soon on Youtube.
